As a part of the Farm to School movement at ODonnell school, we joined students all across the Midwest to have a locally grown apple to crunch together at 12pm on October 11! The Fuel Up to Play 60 student leader team counted out and passed out all the Michigan grown apples to the entire school, including staff. We all gathered together and "crunched" at the countdown! We learned about how fruit is grown and brought from the farm orchards to where we crunched for the day.
How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?
We will continue to talk about farms and where our food comes from. We will explore what "local" means.
