The Mighty Shamrockers

Fuel Up to Play 60 has brought more excitement to PE and the students are enjoying their daily physical activities more. It has helped to promote physical activity around the school and the students are really understanding the importance of living a healthy lifestyle! Thanks to Fuel Up to Play 60 for the Funds to buy new equipment and a PE curriculum! This will help to plan and promote more structured play for the students.

How did you accomplish your goals?

I accomplished my goals by doing fun activities during PE and using a lot of positive reinforcement! By doing this, all my classes are fully participating and having fun! One of the main goals in my class is for the students to understand the importance of having a healthy lifestyle. It is pretty neat to see the change and understanding in some of the students. From the beginning of the year till now I change a great improvement!

What improvements have you seen at your school?

I have seen a lot of improvements. One of them is the school providing the students with healthier snacks and/or food choices. The school food service is doing a great job in promoting healthy food choices for the students! This reminds the students daily to make healthy food choices. Also, the teachers are getting more involved in the healthy community. Teachers will give the students a brain break in the classroom involving physical movements and make sure the students go to recess.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

I plan to keep on promoting and encouraging the students to lead healthy lives by doing fun activities in PE. The students will look forward to PE to participate in new activities and to be active. The ultimate plan is for the students to promote healthier choices to their families, outside of school.
