We arranged for a local RD to come and talk to students during PE classes about how eating healthy foods and physical activity can affect their brain function. They learned how a healthy brain impacts everything about being successful in school: the classroom, attendance, grades, behavior, gym/PE. We created bookmarkers with FUTP 60 information to help students explain it to their parents and get registered on the website.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We were looking for a way to make more students aware of our FUTP 60 team and boost registration, and active involvement on the website and at our school. The wellness message and bookmarkers really helped students understand what we are trying to achieve at our school.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We encouraged students to get active on the website and earn Points. With that, there is a competition with the students to earn as many Points as they can before we leave for spring break, 5 weeks away. We will recognize and reward the top Point earners - 2 for each grade level, top boy and top girl with FUTP 60/NFL prizes.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The students that registered on the website at the beginning of the school year have been very helpful in sharing their experiences to get more students interested. During the Wellness presentation, we had some of the FUTP 60 leader students talk about how to use the website and how to earn Points.
