Thing 1 and Thing 2 enjoy green eggs and ham

We purchased items to do various decorating and themes in the cafeteria. It seems when you have fun and excitement and also include some taste testing, more students participate and look forward to breakfast and lunch. We celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday and staff dressed accordingly. Students really appreciate this and join in the fun. They like to walk in to the lunch room and wonder, "What are they going to do today?" This also gives us the opportunity to try new things and promote our program.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We basically are always looking for fun themes, birthdays, events, etc to celebrate. Things that the students relate to and enjoy learning about and tie in to our meal service. They also love taste testing new things and know that will be part of the fun. Our students have tasted so many things they normally would never have. We get the students and staff input and when everything falls into place it is a success. The smiles and participation number prove it.
