Think Before You Drink

Our school has developed an awareness of the importance of not consuming too much sugar. We have paid attention to how much sugar is in soda and sports drinks. We created a table filled with different soda and sports drinks and calculated how much sugar was in each by measuring the sugar in teaspoons. We placed that amount of sugar in a baggie to be made aware of how mujch sugar we were consuming every time we drank a soda or sport drink. What made this activity so beneficial is that I now have sutdents coming and expressing how they have decreased their soda and sport drink intake and have started to drink more water. We are thinking before we drink!

By providing a visual for all students to see.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

More students are aware of the importance of not consuming too much sugar during the day.
