Third Grade Run Club
Students and staff completed a Run Club to prepare for the Jingle Bell Run 5k. Each week they participated in challenges, exercises and nutritional lessons. Students, staff, and families all ran together to raise money for the Arthritis Foundation in the November. The students completed their first 5k and will complete another during the spring session of Run Club. Students will continue to track their miles for their marathons by wearing fitness trackers during the winter months.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

I have seen an increase in physical activity through the students participating in each of their challenges and also watching the pride each of the third graders had as they crossed that finish line and received a medal.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Each week students and adults worked together to complete challenges and run together to earn their miles. Marquette had 20 adults and 25 students participate in the run club and each of the challenges.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

Students are continuing to keep track of their steps towards their miles and will complete a Spring Session of the Run Club to prepare for their second 5k of the school year.
