Tobias Fuels Up
Tobias FUELS Up! We have accomplished so much through Fuel Up to Play 60 that I needed to brag about all of our successes. This week marked our kick off to our program with posters hung, bulletin board creatively and lovingly finished as well as empowering our students to lead us in fueling up with healthy foods and promoting 60 active minutes every day!  I am so proud to say after filling out the School Wellness Investigation Survey. TOBIAS scored in the high column in all modules. We owe this to learning about the FUEL UP TO PLAY PROGRAM several years ago and making changes in all three areas to accomplish our wellness goals. Our cafeteria and our physical education also collaborated enthusiastically to promote GO, SLOW and WHOA foods. I can walk in our cafeteria any time of day and hear, “HEY COACH, I am eating a GO food”.  Our amazing classroom teachers write in their daily lesson plans and lead their students in a 5 minute GO NOODLE break in the morning and afternoon. Tobias is scheduled to have our first 3K/5K WALK/RUN on April 13, 2019. Walkers and Runners will all receive a participation medal and visit our health fair after the event. Finally, we lit up our marquee! TOBIAS DRINKS MILK TO FUEL UP TO PLAY 60! MILK MEANS MORE!

How did you accomplish your goals?

Drafting our entire student council did the trick! They were so excited to get moving on all the plays and even more enthusiastic about sharing it with their friends and families.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

All of these plays have been activitated and this year they were refreshed. Having the students take ownership is the key!

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Our FitnessGram results have risen to new heights! Our students are attending school more regularly! The smiles are contagious!
