On October 28th, the Fuel Up to Play 60 team hosted a dodgeball tournament. The students made posters to advertise the event, completed the brackets and found adults to chaperone the event while the students were the referees for their peers. We had 21 teams of students with another 150 student fans and about 100 parents watching. The gym was so loud with squeals of joy! It was a great night!

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

The first tournament has three winners, one for each grade level. Our second tournament will be open to all three grades but will have just one winner, so all three grades will compete against each other.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

We needed adult supervision to make this event happen. The students stepped up and got their parents involved to make the night possible.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

The student population is so excited about getting an opportunity to be active. Many students are pushing for an activity time in the gym for every Friday night. We are still working on this.
