3rd to 5th grade students at McKamy Elementary in Carrollton Farmers Branch ISD will soon have the opportunity to participate in the Trailblazer after school sports program. This program will be held once a week where students can choose which sport they would like to know more about. The sports will include Volleyball, Soccer, Basketball, Flag Football, Baseball and Softball. This sports program will be a great way to keep students active, learning and having fun at the same time. Not all students have the luxury to play sports at an early age. This after school program will give students the chance to try out a sport of their interest with other students with similar interests. Students will receive certificates of participation when the program is complete.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

By getting students involved and excited about what is to come. Show students how much fun it can be by staying physically active and the benefits of doing so. Let the student or students choose which sport or sports interest them the most. Giving students the opportunity to experiment and learn about different sports and become social with other students with the same interests. Trailblazer after school sports program will also be a great opportunity to get the community involved.
