Team members offered students in grades Kindergarten through 6th a chance to taste hummus. Many students and staff members had never tried it and were amazed at how nutritious it is.
How did students and adults work together as a team?
Team members had to request permission to serve the hummus during lunch from the principal and kitchen staff. Team members also convinced teachers to "taste test" hummus as many of them had never tried it either.
How did you accomplish your goals?
Over four fifths of the student body tried the hummus. The majority of the testers came back for seconds.
What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
Challenges were trying to find a snack that could easily be distributed throughout the whole student body. Time was also a factor, as many team members had to be taken out of class to hand out the hummus during the other classes' lunch period
