Our Fuel Up to Play 60 Ambassadors created a smoothie taste test for the students and staff of Grant Elementary. These students collaborated to create 3 recipes that included a variety of fruits, vegetables, and different kinds of milk and came up with a plan how they were going to conduct the test and who would do what job. The students decided to conduct the test in each classroom and worked as a team to get the job done.(They even thought of students who had allergies). After the test was over, they shared the results on the morning announcements sharing the recipes and which one won. They offered a copy of any of the recipes to anyone interested.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The Ambassadors worked together to figure out the recipes and how to carry out the activity. The adults were there to guide the activity.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

Time- We didn't think it would take so long to make the smoothies and get to all the classrooms in one day. We ended up having to do the test during two days.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We gave students opportunity to try foods they would not have otherwise.
