Community Involvement

The week before Thanksgiving, fifth graders sold paper feathers of different sizes to students. The feathers could be put on the door of any teacher they chose. The teacher with the most feathers was named the turkey teacher and 4 other teachers that were runner ups were announced at an all school assembly. They were given feather costumes to wear for the rest of the day. The money that was raised was given to a local food pantry.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The students brought and sold feathers. The teachers were willing to wear a funny turkey costume.

How did you accomplish your goals?

The members of student council met before the event to plan the selling of feathers and the final assembly.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

This has become a yearly event that students and staff look forward to.
