Turkey Trot at ESC
The supervisor, Mr. Salas, chose two Ambassadors for Fuel Up to Play 60 here at ESC. They, in turn, selected students from different classrooms to form the FUTP 60 committee. We all got together and planned out our Turkey Trot, which took place before Thanksgiving break. We measured the field we have and put cones in a square formation that had sides of 75 yards. We had two water stations on corners of the field. The committee invited Cindy Swansiger to observe our event. The committee also created pairs from every classroom and front office. The pairs were to walk around the square for 60 minutes. The top 3 pairs with the most laps were awarded with items from the FUTP 60 store. We had music and encouraged everyone to dress "turkey". It was a great time and a great bonding experience for all the students and staff.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students and adult staff were paired together. We had older students paired with younger students and everyone was excited about getting as many laps as possible. This helped the students get to know each other better from the different classrooms and grade levels and created a family environment.
