Turkey TROT at Vardeman
Students are learning to eat healthy and stay fit. Students at Vardeman EC/PK/K participated in a Turkey Trot Race during the school day .

How did you accomplish your goals?

We practiced running and working out each day! The parents also brought the students to practice on a Saturday at the District Turkey Trot Race. We also collected canned goods for the hungry and brought them to the race to feed the hungry and needy!

What improvements have you seen at your school?

My students are excited about eating healthy and exercising and the parents continue to support our program by coming to the event!

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

Transportation can be a challenge for the students to participate, so I attached my phone number and communicated school messenger and letters to make this event happen.
