Our students held their 4th annual Turkey Trot this year. We had more dances and were able to have more school and community participation. Students in each grade were taught 5 dances that they then performed for their parents. The students had a blast helping to create and learn these dances. We had over 40% of the school have a parent show up for this performance that was held during the day. I can't wait until next year when we can add even more dances and perhaps have some solo performances.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We had so much positive response to the activity that I was awarded a projector and screen so that my students can work out to JustDance videos. They love when they come in the gym and see that screen pulled down!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

I had several teachers that helped me look for dances and then helped in teaching the dances to the students. They were allowed to work on the dances during inside recess when it was too wet to go outside.

How did you accomplish your goals?

It took us several weeks of on and off working to get the dances completed. I think that the students did a great job and you could see the pride they took in what they had learned.
