Union Cross has started a morning walking club. This club meets weekly and students walk or jog using the school grounds, with the support of school administration and parent volunteers. Students are able to be active before their school day at Union Cross. The club uses pedometers from Fuel Up to Play 60 to track the student’s steps. We estimate and convert the steps into miles. The goal of the club this year is to walk across the state of North Carolina. We started our walk in Swain County and will finish in Dare County. So far we have walked 111 miles. We would like to thank Fuel Up to Play 60 in helping our students stay motivated!
