UI football players volunteer each week to do physical activity like play basketball or flag football with South East Junior High Fuel Up to Play 60 members plus students who earned a Little Hawk Time Privilege Pass. They play for 30 minutes and get in some good physical activity with role models from our community.

How did you accomplish your goals?

Working with the community, the Iowa City Community School District partnered with The University of Iowa to get volunteer athletes who would come to our school on a weekly basis to do physical activity like flag football and basketball with our South East Junior High School students. Our school was assigned to the Iowa Football Team and our students look forward to Fuel Up to Play 60 time each week for 30 minutes.
