Students from Van Allen led an assembly with our visiting volleyball players from the University of Iowa. Third and 4th graders brainstormed questions they wanted to ask the volleyball players about being a student athlete. They even asked what the student athletes' favorite healthy snack was and their favorite pre-game meal. Our FUTP 60 students ran the show! They wrote and read the introduction to introduce the student athletes and coaches, asked the questions, and read the conclusion. Our students were very inspired and excited to see the college athletes come to our school!

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students ran the assembly! The wrote their comments with me before the assembly, but during the assembly the students read the introduction, asked the questions, and read closing remarks! They did a great job of running the show!
