Community Involvement, Physical Activity Participation, Student Leadership, Success with Funds, Teamwork
At the Color Run, we started out in white and finished decked out in a spattering of bright, dazzling color. Throughout the run, participants were blitzed with colored powder by Cross Country athletes and Fuel Up to Play 60 members. Participants chose their distance on the day of the event, depending on how colorful they wanted to become.
How did students and adults work together as a team?
The event was a success because of the community involved in helping to advertise through word of mouth and over the radio. We wanted it to be a special event, because we were also launching the opening of our new track and field facility that evening. It was everything that we hoped it would be, and so many people participated. Our young leaders in the program did well with assisting and facilitating portions of the event.
