Fruit Week was a huge success! From dressing in colors, trying new fruit, parents packing fruit for lunch or snack, and teachers planning fun activities throughout the week; all the students learned the importance of a healthy and balanced food plate. They also learned why activity is just as important for a healthy life by playing fruit games.
How did students and adults work together as a team?
Staff and students wore the color of the day to celebrate the fruits of that color.
What improvements have you seen at your school?
Students are trying and enjoying fruits for snacks and for lunch
What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?
It can sometimes be difficult for young children to try new foods. Our 3-6 yr olds were asked to look at, touch, smell, and taste different fruits each day. They were encouraged by older students (6th, 7th, & 8th graders) that visited our school during their lunch time.
