Volleyball Players have Smoothies after School
Garden Park Elementary had forty players in the City of Brownsville Parks and Recreation Volleyball league. Garden Park had two teams in the 8 and under division. Those teams consisted of 2nd and 3rd graders. We also had two teams in the 10 and under division which consisted of 4th and 5th graders. During an after school practice, the players made some smoothies using bananas, mandarin oranges, strawberries, spinach, pineapples, yogurt, and low fat milk. The players learned that with a blend of fruits, and other ingredients, you are getting a heart healthy drink.
