Physical Activity Participation

Our school kicked off our FUTP 60 program with a Walk Maryland Day event. The entire school walked a 1/4 mile course, stopping along the way to learn about the state of Maryland. Each stop also had an exercise. The students and staff walked several laps.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

This event kicked off our recess walking program and our walking brain boost program. The students will track their distance as they walk virtually through the state of Maryland, learning about important landmarks as they go.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

The students are excited to exercise and the teachers are seeing the benefits of an activity break.

How did you accomplish your goals?

Goals were accomplished with support from the administration and the teachers.
