Walk Run or Jog to Fitness

Kristi Anderson,   South Union Elementary School
Community Involvement, Physical Activity Participation,  Teamwork

Students made announcements and shared information with family, friends, and community members about our selected fitness activity. Students selected to walk, jog, or run when participating. Students could select a combination of the three things if they felt comfortable doing it. It was encouraged to attempted to get out of your comfort zone when participating.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The students and staff set up a route for students and community members to follow when participating in the activity. Everyone could chose from a number of laps or a time frame. Students and community members were rewarded at the end of the activity. They could receive a reward if they accomplished their goal. Everyone also received a healthy snack and drink when finished. We increased the number of participants from previous activities.
