Walking and Running in our Shoes at Lawrence Elementary
The Lawrence Walking and Running Club is a before and after school program, where students can log their laps for the benefit of being physically active. Students can also get additional rewards and prizes for accumulating mileage. The program emphasizes the five components of physical fitness by doing strength training, developing flexibility, muscular endurance and having a balanced body composition.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

The Lawrence Walking and Running Club has been a big hit with our students. They enjoy the opportunity to spend time with our Art teacher, 5th grade teacher and other teachers that participate when time permits. The club is currently training to do the Wichita Easter Sun Run and have already done the Turkey Trot back in November of this school year. They are also currently planning the 2nd Annual Lawrence Walk/Run in May. Each participate will receive a ribbon that promotes 60 minutes of exercise each day.
