All students in 3rd grade participate in a walking group 3 times a week. The school mapped a course and when the teacher can tell that the students need a break to refresh their brain, they get up and do 3-4 laps around the 1/4 mile track on any day of the week. This helps the students get in exercise and recharge their brains

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students and staff mapped out the course and motivate each other through out the laps.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

Third grade was a great place to start, as the students will continue this in fourth grade. They will then motivate and start this with next year's third graders.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Students are refreshed and energized when they finish their laps.
