Our play this year is Marathon Kids; however, since there is a charge to participate, we have developed a walking program in our PE classes. We are participating in the Mighty Milers program again this year. The students are walking laps during PE classes and earning rewards for it. Our first goal is to reach 26.2 miles. Some have almost reached that goal so we will start another goal of 26.2 miles. We encourage the students to walk in the evenings and weekends with their family and friends

How did you accomplish your goals?

We are participating in the Mighty Milers program with our PE classes. Their goal is to reach 26.2 miles. Some students have almost reached that goal. We will start another goal of 26.2 to see if they can reach another marathon. We walk at least twice a week with our PE classes. Some weeks we are able to walk for more days. Later, the weather may not let us walk as much during class. The students are motivated by being able to win rewards.
