Lincoln Elementary School students walked a total of 8,435.4 miles during the 2016-2017 school year. We also increased the level of fruit and vegetable consumption during breakfast and lunch by 18% during the school year. We walk laps on our walking track at school and have a weekly competition between classes to see who walks the most laps. This year our school plans to walk around the "Lower 48 States" and the distance around Alaska and Hawaii for our challenge. We hope to increase our consumption of fruits and vegetables by another 8-10%.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Students are more active with walking and running during recess and before and after school. Students are excited each week to see who won and how many laps each class walked. Students are taking more time to eat and making better choices with what to eat. Even our cold lunch students are bring more fruits and vegetables.
