We host a Walk and Bike to School Day each fall and spring. We use the Fuel Up to Play 60 prizes awarded to us for becoming a Touchdown status school as incentives for students. The students that walk or bike to school on our chosen day are given a sticker to prove their involvement. Classroom teachers make lists of the students that participated in our event by walking and biking to school and then we draw one name from each classroom to be awarded with a Fuel Up to Play 60 prize. This event has not only encouraged the healthful activity of walking and biking to school, but has also helped us to promote Fuel Up to Play 60 in our school. As a school of approximately 400 students, we almost always have over half of our students participate. This is a great event!

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We host a walk and bike to school day each fall and spring of every school year. We even get our high school students involved by asking the high school athletes to come and help greet and walk students to school from designated locations.
