We Like to Move It

On September 30, 2015, our school participated in Power Up for 30 Day. The entire school offered classroom brain breaks throughout the day. We also had a school-wide Fitness Drill where everyone in the school stopped what they were doing and participated in the Sid Shuffle dance.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

Our school has received over $9,000 in grants to create opportunities for more classroom physical activity throughout the day.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Students are enjoying classtime more. They are more engaged in the lessons and there is a decline in disruptive behavior.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

As Program Advisor, I have included students and teachers in the decision-making process for our programs and Plays.
