Access to Healthy Foods

I took a group of students that had never been outside of our immediate area to a number of local farms to see family-owned farming practices and larger-scale farming practices. We then came back and started our own garden and were able to grow many items for consumption this summer. Most of the students started doing some gardening at their homes as well.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Over one year.

How did you accomplish your goals?

Yes, our goal was to learn about growing our own food and then implementing our knowledge into our own growing program.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

Yes, we are starting on year two now.
