Community members who sold or shared health and wellness products/information were invited to set up a table at our evening Health Fair. We had over 19 tables set up and each table had an interactive health-related question or activity. Parents, students, community members and teachers had a Health Fair passport that they had to get checked off at each table.
How did students and adults work together as a team?
The Healthy School Club helped organize the event by advertising with flyers and announcements. They volunteered at 3 tables during the Health Fair. The first table involved students/families trying to do a modified pull-up, the second was a milk mustache photo booth, and the 3rd was a health literacy fun fact table. Club members interacted with Health Fair participants and helped educate participants on staying active, eating enough calcium, and knowing the facts.
How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?
Wedgefield School plans to make the Health Fair an annual event. All of the vendors enjoyed the evening and are excited for the next event. We have a vinyl banner and supplies that we can use every year thanks to our FUTP 60 Grant.
