This year, my Student Leadership team was involved in the planning, organizing and implementing our school-wide Field Day. They decided that there would be two separate event areas, one for Kindergarten only and one for all other grade levels (Kindergarten participated in both). Gold, silver and bronze medals were awarded to classes in grades 3-5, while ALL students received Field Day tags. Lauren Scott, our Wayne State University representative, came to our Field Day for a flavored water tasting, which the kids thoroughly enjoyed. The SLT did a fantastic job promoting this event and was instrumental in the "flow of traffic" and troubleshooting any small bumps in the road. I am very proud of the effort and hard work they put into this event to make it fun for everyone...teacher, students and volunteers.

As the leader of our SLT, I met with students and helped guide their choices. I also helped them gather the resources necessary to make our event successful.
