Weyauwega Smoothies
We recently hosted a smoothie night where our Fuel Up to Play 60 student team made four different smoothie recipes. We used General Mills blender-less smoothie recipes. Each of these smoothies meet our school nutritional guidelines. Our students tasted each of the recipes and voted on their favorites. "Grandma's Apple Pie" came out the winner. The most popular recipes will be featured on our monthly smoothie cart for the entire elementary school to purchase as soon as we get it up and running. :)

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Students had to collaborate and bring in the necessary ingredients for their smoothie recipe. They worked together to make the recipe, taste test and clean up after themselves.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

Our team plans to purchase a smoothie cart with our funds. We will make and sell smoothies monthly to help support our program.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

These smoothies were made with all healthy ingredients. It is fun to see how much the kids enjoy them. They were excited to take the recipes home and try them there! We have seen an overall positive attitude about eating healthy.
