My students and I do a exercise dance as a warm-up for PE class. Our current song is the Whip It Nae song that Harvest Elementary did. The kids love this song, and have now learned the exercise dance part of the music. So everyday before we start the lesson, we as a group get our hearts pumping by dancing. My students and I love it because it's an activity that we do together.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

We will incorporate this as our warm-up routine for the rest of the year. We will change songs and the exercise movements.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

The kids are excited about PE and Character Education, and always ask what the new activity for next week is. They get excited to exercise and try new things, even if it's out of their comfort zone.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The kids and I dance together as a warm-up before the lesson. If the students see me doing it, I receive better participation. They also think it's cool that a teacher dances with them.
