Milk Mustache Day

At Wickham Elementary, students participated in the Milk Mustache play. Several 5th grade Fuel Up To Play 60 kids organized a day for this event to be held. During the kindergarten and 1st grade lunches, these students passed out milk mustache stickers for students that finished their milk. A few of the students are lactose intolerant, so if they finished their fruits or vegetables they could get one too. The FUTP 60 members all had fun with this because they could take some silly pictures, be role models for the younger students, and of course they got to wear mustaches too! The Milk Mustache play was a great way to encourage kids to drink milk and also eat healthy foods.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

FUTP 60 students planned the event and worked with the advisor to get milk mustache stickers. They set up a date with the secretary and lunch supervisors. On the day of the event, while the lunch supervisors monitored students in the lunch room, FUTP 60 students passed out the stickers to younger students who consumed their milk and/or vegetables and fruits. These FUTP 60 students also assisted in writing the summary for our Success Story.
