Working to Improve Physical Activity and Eat Breakfast
At Man Middle, we are working hard to make improvements in the student's lives. We have had several smoothie tastings and now our cafeteria makes smoothies on a regular basis. We have worked with the classroom teachers about getting the students out of their seats and moving during class. It has helped with discipline problems with students who have had a hard time sitting still and getting into trouble. We also had a fun day with doing the "Milk It!" challenge and taking pictures of their milk mustaches.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

Our biggest challenge was just getting teachers/staff to "change their ways" and the way things were done in the past. Making the transition was difficult at times but now that the changes are in place we have all seen a difference in the students.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

Man Middle was recognized as a National Model School for this year showing our growth and response to problems.

How do you plan to make this Play last during the school year and beyond?

With continued education to staff and students and making breakfast and physical activity a priority.
