Working with the Prince of Peace Garden Team
The Lincoln School Fuel Up to Play 60 Leaders have been working with the Prince of Peace Church Garden Team all school year long. In the fall, we visited the garden, tasted what was left from the spring planting and discussed plans for the 2019 planting season. A few weeks ago, the students looked through seed catalogs and chose many different vegetable seeds to plant. Last week, the students planted micro greens, which will be fully grown the week before spring break. The plants are in a classroom, so the students are taking care of them during the school day. When the plants are ready, we'll be having a "Salad Party" and eat the fruits of our labor. After break, we'll be working in the outside garden, planting all of the seeds we ordered.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

The Garden Club ladies are very knowledgeable and helped the kids research the seeds. Which plants will do the best in our climate? Which have the shortest maturity time? Which will yield the most crops?
