Wrightstown Healthy Recipe Contest
We recently held a recipe contest through our Fuel Up to Play 60 team. All middle school students were asked to create a healthy recipe that included dairy and or fruit and submit it for a chance to be placed on the district lunch menu and win a prize pack. Recipes were gathered and narrowed down to 7 finalists. The finalists were asked to prepare their recipe and serve it to our Board of Education members for final judging. First place went to the Fruit Taco recipe submitted by a member of our FUTP 60 student team and a close second went to the Watermelon/Strawberry sherbet recipe also submitted by a member of our FUTP 60 student team. Both recipes included dairy and fruit and will be placed on our district lunch menu.

How did you accomplish your goals?

We were so impressed with the effort the students put through in writing their recipes! It took effort from many different area in our school, from the students to the teachers to the food service. Everyone worked together to get this accomplished.

What improvements have you seen at your school?

By placing it on the menu with credit to the students, I feel it will generate interest from the student body to want to be more involved in future events we do through our program.
