Yogurt Parfaits with a Farmer
The MS Fuel Up to Play 60 team sent out a Google form to find out which students were interested in trying in a yogurt parfait. They worked with the food service staff to order yogurt and worked with the business office to order things like dark chocolate chips and granola. Once they had the items for the parfaits, they invited a retired farmer to come and tell students where the yogurt for their parfaits come from. He shared interesting facts about cows and dairy farming while the students ate the parfaits.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Our FUTP 60 team worked with our food service department, business office, a retired farmer and their program advisor. From start to finish, they came up with the questions, organized amounts of food items, made contacts with people involved and got the word out to students. They did a great job!

What improvements have you seen at your school?

The student response was incredible! Many really enjoyed the parfaits and even learned a couple of things about dairy! Our team is hoping to expand on this project by using our concession stand to add parfaits and smoothies for snacks in the coming year.
