Student Leadership

Youth voices make a difference and that was evident this last week as our school and State Ambassador presented to state leaders in business, education, and health and listened to them speak about how youth view health and wellness. One of our students gave a keynote speech to a room of adult leaders.

How did students and adults work together as a team?

Adult leaders from business, education, and health organizations listened and got feedback from our youth leaders.

How did you accomplish your goals?

When the students were first asked to present to the adults, they were scared and tentative about the experience. With lots of time practicing and fielding questions from some of our staff at school, the student leaders were able to overcome their fears.

What challenges did you face and how did you overcome them?

Getting the students prepared to be out of school for the day is always a challenge. They stepped up and completed all their school work before leaving for the morning to present.
